Bull Bear Seesaw

One beam, one pin, two very different moods. A desk seesaw for whichever way the market went today: a grinning bull on one end, a bear on the other, and nothing in between but balance.

Two animals, one beam

The bull and the bear share a single grey beam, 7.4 in end to end, so one of them is always a little higher than the other.

The bull is grinning

A beige muzzle, an open mouth, two dark eyes and horns that sweep out past the edges of his face. When his end rises, the smile is the point.

The bear is not

Black eyes and nose on a dark mask, and a small cut-out under each eye. Tip the beam toward the bear and those cut-outs are designed to show blue tears.

The moods live behind the faces

A misty-blue plate sits behind the bear and a dark-brown plate behind the bull, with a beige shuttle running between them along the beam.

One pin carries the argument

The beam turns on a single pin 2.3 in above the table, locked in by small printed keys. All 21 pieces are printed; there is no screw in the parts list.
