The only way to see what this does is to cut it in half.

Crema Click is a demitasse-shaped object for a desk, printed in three pieces of one PETG filament. Closed, it gives nothing away: a heavy little cup, an angular open handle, a cream disc filling the mouth. Press the disc and it runs 8.5 mm down a bore nobody ever sees, on to a stop nobody can reach.

Up close the wall is nothing but layer lines, and the disc sits proud of the stepped ring around the mouth — the only piece of the mechanism you will ever actually see.

Closed, it reads as one solid object. The disc stands proud of the rim and nothing else on it will move.

Press, and the face drops 8.5 mm — under the rim and out of sight. From out here, that is the whole event.

Cut the cup down its axis and the reason appears: a column standing in a bore, which the wall was hiding all of.

The stem runs in a Ø12.0 neck with 0.2 mm to spare. The bead below it is Ø13.2 — too fat to pass, which is why the piston never leaves.

The stroke ends on the plug: the collar lands on a ring Ø11.4 across. Plastic meeting plastic, once, is the click.

Three prints, one spool

Nothing is bought in. There is no spring, no magnet, no metal pin and no adhesive anywhere in it — the only forces at work are two sliding fits and one that does not fit at all.

Ø55.9 at the foot opening out to Ø63.9 at the rim, 44.5 tall, with a Ø47.1 recess sunk 10.0 mm into the top. The wall is never thinner than 8.0 mm, which is where all of the weight comes from: this one piece is 79% of everything the printer lays down. The handle is a flat 8.0 mm strap reaching 14.0 mm past the widest part of the wall.

38.9 mm end to end and the only moving part: a Ø44.0 disc, a Ø11.6 stem 15.4 mm long, then the Ø16.4 barrel that rides in the bore. It prints disc-down — which is why the chamfer you can feel is on the top face — and is assembled the other way up. Captive travel is 12.9 mm.

Ø56.0 and 5.5 mm thick, with 3 barbed tabs 120° apart that snap up into three slots in the base and stay there. It closes the underside and does one more job: the Ø11.4 ring standing in its middle is the surface the piston lands on at the bottom of every press.

Two fits that slide, one that refuses

Everything this object does, it does with three numbers. Two of them are the gap a printed part needs to move; the third is deliberately the wrong way round, and it is the reason the piston can be pressed a thousand times and never fall out of the bottom or lift out of the top.
