He stands 8.3 in and arrives as printed pieces. No battery, no motor, and no metal spring — the only thing storing energy is plastic.

One joint, and it is the waist

Lift the figure off its own shaft and the machine is plain: 40 parts ride the arbor, 22 stay down with the legs.

The power is a printed ribbon

A flat PETG spiral 1.2 mm thick and 9.6 mm deep, coiled to 37.5 mm across inside the waist cup. Winding pulls it tighter.

From above it is one angle

The whole performance is 60 degrees wide. Two lugs printed into the waist lid decide that, and nothing you do afterwards can change it.

Wound to the far lug

Held at the end of its travel, with the sword carried back across the chest. Below the belt nothing has moved.

Let go

The tip runs 136 mm back to the near lug, out at 130 mm from the axis — the brass arc on the bench is the path it takes.

Sixty degrees, stop to stop

The travel is not a setting. It is two lugs printed into the waist lid, standing in the way of a tab on the rotor.

Wind the upper body and the tab sweeps round until it touches the far lug and stops dead. Let go and the spring drives it back to the near one. The gap between them is the entire range of the toy, and it is decided at slicing time rather than by anything the owner sets.

Measured off the shipped geometry, that gap is 60 degrees. Out at the sword, 60 degrees is a long way.

Between them sits the one part that does neither: the ribbon, anchored to the cup at its outer end and to the shaft at its hub.

What you actually print

63 parts, sliced in PETG on the house profile: 7.6 oz of filament and 20.6 hours of bed time. A leg is the heaviest piece at 0.8 oz and the tallest at 124 mm; the sword is the longest thing on the plate at 95 mm.

The spring prints flat with everything else. That is the whole trick of the object: the part that would normally be a bought steel coil is just another line on the plate.
