How it plays. A twist of the top knob spins the three-arm wheel inside the housing, flinging the loose round bead outward against the inner rim. Momentum drags it in turn across the rain field's close-set ribs, the frog-song field's wider ribs and the crickets field's fine ribs, each one ticking out its own clicks and taps as the bead passes.

Three ribbed fields. Each of the three rib fields inside the rim uses a different tooth height and spacing, printed with the same fine layer lines as the rest of the housing, so the bead's pitch shifts cleanly from rain to frog-song to crickets without catching or skipping a beat.
