Precise reach into tight, small spaces. Aquascapers, terrarium keepers, and electronics techs clamp this to a bench edge, then squeeze the thumb saddle and finger yoke to mirror their hand at half scale, driving a three-jaw gripper down the boom into tanks, enclosures, and chassis too tight to reach by hand.
How it works. A rhombus pantograph plate turns hand motion into tool motion: move the thumb saddle and two-finger yoke and the output link mirrors that travel at 2:1, reversed, at the far end. Push rods carry the grip, pitch, and roll signals down the boom to a ratchet-held gripper and gimballed wrist.
Built from separate parts. The manipulator breaks down into distinct printed pieces: a deck plate with the pantograph bars and thumb saddle, three push rods and bellcranks relaying grip, pitch, and roll, two dovetail-coupled boom modules that snap together, a two-ring gimballed wrist, and a three-jaw gripper of chuck body, draw cone, and dovetail jaw faces, plus the bench clamp and its screw.
Clamp, swivel, and reach. The bench clamp opens across roughly half an inch to almost two inches of throat, seats on a self-leveling foot, and locks into an indexed turret that re-aims the whole arm in 90-degree steps. Two dovetailed boom modules snap together to extend reach, and the gripper jaw faces swap in seconds for different work.
