Safe Eclipse Viewing. Built for eclipse watchers, families, and classrooms who want to see a solar eclipse without ever looking at the sun. Point the front face sunward, shrink the raised tab's shadow to a dot for precise aim, and a crescent image projects onto the internal screen, viewed safely through the angled eyepiece.
How It Works. Point the flat front face toward the sun and watch the small raised tab beside the pinhole boss: when its shadow shrinks to a single dot, the viewer is aimed. Sunlight passes through the 0.7 mm pinhole and a 45 degree funnel baffle, travels the internal optical path, and projects a crescent image onto the screen inside.
Angled Eyepiece Grip. The eyepiece branch tilts 55 degrees off the main tube axis and flares into a glare-hooded rim, so the crescent projection is easy to view without blocking outside light. A tapered grip zone measuring roughly 2.4 to 3.5 inches from the front sits between 1.2 and 1.8 inches in outer diameter for a steady one-hand hold.
One-Piece PLA Build. The viewer prints as a single PLA piece with no supports, its walls drafted and the internal chamber roof tented at 40 degrees so nothing overhangs flat. Measuring 5.98 x 1.5 x 2.91 inches, it has a smooth matte finish and fine layer lines that give the compact body a solid, seamless feel in hand.
