Checkers for late design reviews. Built for late-night design reviews where the team wants a proper game between rounds. Two players set up regulation English checkers: twelve five-ring pieces face twelve five-spoke pieces across the 8x8 grid, playable by the standard jump-and-crown rules, with the five threshold bars marking the near edge of every match.
Five jobs, one board. Five-Job Checkers plays regulation English draughts on a 5.2 in board scored into an 8x8 grid of 0.57 in squares. Along the near edge, five raised threshold bars stand for Wish, Make, Playtest, Instructions and Deliver - the Workshop's five-job process, read into the board without touching a single rule of the game.
Two armies, told apart by touch. The set is three parts: one board, twelve five-ring pieces and twelve five-spoke pieces. Each low-profile piece carries five raised studs on top, arranged in a ring for one side and a spoke pattern for the other, so the two armies read apart by touch and silhouette alike, not only by their midnight black and brass-gold finish.
Architecture over ornament. Finished in matte midnight black with warm brass-gold accents, the set favors architecture over decoration: flat plains, square edges and five raised threshold bars in place of applied graphics. Fine layer lines and precise seams from the printed pieces read as intentional texture, keeping the high-contrast palette restrained rather than playful.
