A checkers board for design reviews. Clear a spot on the conference table and split the pieces black to gold for two players. The board turns a five-minute break between design reviews into an actual game, giving a Workshop team something to do at the table that still looks like it belongs in the studio.
Rings versus spokes. Slide a five-ring piece or a five-spoke piece one square across the midnight grid, jump an opposing piece to clear it from the board, and walk a piece into the back row, marked by a brass-toned threshold marker, to crown it. The rules stay regulation checkers; the ring and spoke motifs simply mark the two sides.
Finish and fit. Every light square carries a shallow chevron groove milled edge to edge, cut cleanly enough to read from across a conference table, while the dark squares stay flat and glare-free under fluorescent lights. Pieces seat flush in their squares with no wobble, no glue, and no batteries, just stacked plastic and a crisp seam line.
What is included. The set comes as one board, a full side of five-ring pieces, a full side of five-spoke pieces, and the brass-toned threshold markers that flag the crowning row. Each piece is a stacked cylinder capped with its ring or spoke motif, sized to sit flush inside a single grid square.
