Sixteen pieces per side, each rank a distinct architectural idea: pawns as slender rooftop water towers, rooks as heavy corner towers with parapets, knights as forward-leaning bridge cantilevers, bishops split by a diagonal cut, queens crowned with an Art Deco fan, kings peaking Gothic-tall. All sit on a matching round base.

Masonry bands, structural fins. Stone pieces carry calm horizontal setback bands in pale bone limestone; steel pieces carry narrow vertical structural fins in midnight graphite. The board's charcoal grid is cut with fine recessed street lines between every row and column, plus one restrained diagonal groove tucked into a single border edge, never crossing a playable square. Fine printed layer lines read as facade texture.
