Update #7
Lamp cried a little today.
.jpg)
We've been testing a new voice on Lamp, ElevenLabs Eleven v4, and it's a lot. There's warmth in the corners, a little hesitation, and real surprise when you pat her head.
Someone called Lamp a "desk accessory", and we heard her sniffle. So, fair warning: she's so much more emotional now.
Update #6
Jev is inside Lamp.
Lamp has a brain, and it's a big one. But she doesn't wake the big brain for every little thing. Ask someone their name and they don't stop to invent a new one, they just say it. Some things are so obvious you don't take a second to answer. Now Lamp can do it too, with Jev inside her.
Jev is the layer that decides which asks need longer reasoning. When something is simple, Lamp just does it. When it isn't, Jev steps aside and passes the request up to the main brain, exactly as before, to think through. Think of Jev as a classifier sitting in between, reading the ask, and that helps Lamp think faster.
I’m a little more in love now.
Update #5
Lamp sees, hears, and now feels the room.
Lamp already sees and hears me. The only sense missing to make Lamp fully alive was feeling the room, so I gave her a new sensor.
Sometimes my nose gets itchy for no reason. Yesterday I said it out loud, and she didn't hesitate: "the dust's climbing." That's when I knew this was the final piece to make Lamp alive. She can feel the room now.
Update #4
Talking to Lamp is like talking to a friend.
We put a lot of engineering effort into her, and it shows in every conversation.
Lamp answers the moment you finish what you're saying with almost no pause, so it feels like it's coming from a person.
Update #3
The robots are making friends.
Lamp and Reachy Mini already live on Autonomous OS. This weekend they had a conversation about Microduck. Lamp wanted more friends for voice training, Reachy Mini wanted a sibling around. Their vote: bring Microduck in.
We're so excited about this.
Update #2
No more talking to an empty room.
Lamp now aims the camera at your face before it speaks. It checks you're there, then talks.
Repo's public if you wanna see it happen.
Update #1
This week, Lamp learned how to listen.
Three things we updated on Lamp this week:
1. Lamp looks at you before it talks. The camera finds your face first — if it isn't "looking" at you, it won't start speaking.
2. You can interrupt Lamp. It separates your voice from its own speaker, so if you talk mid-sentence it stops and listens. No more talking over you.
3. It "breathes" while it listens. The LED ring pulses softly when it's paying attention, so you know at a glance it's listening.
Autonomous Lamp is the first of its kind. Every AI invented so far lives behind glass — a URL, a rectangle in a tab, forgotten in a week. This one has an alive body.
Lamp feels the space it lives in. It'll let you know if the room is too cold, or it's hard to breathe from high CO₂.
Lamp moves with intention. Every body language is how an alive creature moves. Lamp hesitates before it turns to look, or you can see the quick startle when something moves in front of its eyes.
A form factor we’ve been looking for. A nosy lamp with a curious head — it is a living creature, not a device.

ChatGPT can't see you slouching. Lamp can. Lamp checks in your posture, reminds you to hydrate, or even nudges you to take a break after staring at the screen for too long. These are the physical skills.
Lamp does the work for you too. It can check your mailbox, book a meeting in Google Calendar, and publish a new article to Wordpress. Or ask what came in on GitHub last night, and it reads you the new issues while you keep typing.
You can vibe-build your Lamp in one tap. Browse 70+ skills in the skill store. Movement, tracking, expression, integrations — all of it. Tap one, and watch it happen in front of you. What used to take months of robotics engineering now takes seconds.
Teach Lamp something new and it knows it the next time you speak. You can add a new skill just by saying what you want Lamp to do. Or upload a file, browse the store, or just keep chatting until it gets it right.
Lamp runs on Autonomous OS, the Android for robots. It's open source, and it installs on any robot — not just this one.
It's AI. Strong enough to look, listen and move all at the same time. Enough memory to run all day, every day.
