The idea of a movable wrist rest can seem a bit far-fetched but this is exactly what Deltahub has delivered. The Carpio 2.0 is the latest generation of its globally recognized wrist rests for the office and workspaces. How does it work? And does it work? Let’s dive in.
The box itself is impressive, with a smooth touch and dark design. It’s sleek and professional, leaving you in no doubt about the quality of the product. And it doesn’t stop there.
The opening mechanism is also seriously cool - with the product and instructions revealing themselves at the same time. When we finally get to the wrist rest itself, it doesn’t let you down. It’s a simple, yet well-made product.
I couldn’t wait to try it out!
Design & Materials
The design is neat, with a simple butterfly shape with a silicone padding and teflon base. It’s also conveniently small - about the size of a credit card - so you’ll be able to take it around with you.
The other thing that caught my attention is the weight distribution. It feels perfectly weighted for the purpose, which is hard to explain - but in short, it’s not too heavy so it doesn’t move, but also not too light that it just flies everywhere.
I’ve rarely encountered this level of detail.
How it Fits
This is why it’s essential to watch the video or at least read the instructions before using. Had I not done so, I would have just kept it under my wrist and carried on with the day. While this kind of works, it’s not the correct way to use it.
It’s designed to fit the bottom of your palm. Once you do that, it’ll click for you.
One thing that you should do before you buy is to measure your palm. If it’s smaller than the width of a credit card, then you’ll need a small size. If it’s about the same or wider than a credit card, then grab a large size.
The experience has been solid so far. I’ve been using it for a couple of months and it does take a bit of getting used to. For example, I move my hand around a lot when I’m working, and it wasn’t easy just slotting it back into the Carpio 2.0.
However, I adapted my style and got used to having this device around. After a month or so, it really became an integral part of my desktop setup.
Not only has it been more comfortable, I can feel those little aches and pains at the end of the day alleviating. It has significantly improved my posture as well, which has even reduced the stiffness I used to feel in my back.
“Small yet mighty” is the term that springs to mind.
I’ve enjoyed the product so far and it's now an important part of my setup. The Delta Carpio 2.0 Wrist Rest is a very neat concept and it works. In a way, it has forced me to take a better posture at my desk and it has led to significant improvements in my overall health. I’m also more productive than ever before.
You’ll need to make a few adjustments in the early days, but the product gives back bucket loads in return.
