Uncaged Ergonomics KT1 Under-Desk Keyboard Tray

I have been using this device daily (7/week) for close to four years, and in that time it has never failed me once. I value it as much as every piece of technology I own. It's exceptionally sturdy, provides the ability to rotate the keyboard/mouse away from the line of site (i.e. not parallel to the wide end of the monitor); it ALSO provides the ability to slide the whole tray under the desk (on either side of the tray); ALSO provides the ability to adjust the downward angle of the keyboard tray _separately from_ the angle of the mouse tray AND the ability to adjust the distance between the mouse tray and the keyboard. Adjustments to ensure that the device maintains your preferences are performed using thumb screws and standard-sized locking nuts. It's a bit of work to get it installed, but you will get that time back almost immediately.

This thing is HEAVY! The mount is nice and sturdy, but adding the desk plates and extensions makes it wobbly. Also, it doesn't allow for a full mouse mat. I removed the plates and mounting and replaced it with a light, sealed piece of 3/8 in plywood. This makes maneuvering much easier. This is a nice product, but a bit overweight as configured.

Installed on a home office desk. It was easy to install and seems to be durable. The variety of adjustments that can be made is a good feature.

This worked perfectly, allowing me to get my keyboard and mouse below my desk at a proper ergonomic setting. The ability to set the keyboard and mouse angle independently (different angles) is particularly useful. The unit is HEAVY, made of good metal (no plastic), with locks that secure the position in place. Non-slip pads on the keyboard tray keep it where you put it, and a self-adhesive 3M mouse pad on the side keeps the mouse in place... just be careful when placing it so it lines up the first time!

Require extra work to properly adjust to desire position but it’s great you can move it all directions to find your best position.

Very happy with the keyboard and mouse tray. It is easy to install, sturdy and configurable for right hand or left hand mousers. The tilt of the keyboard and mouse sections are independent of one another. You can raise or lower the keyboard to just above the desktop to several inches below the desktop to get the right height for your seating. Note that this is not going to raise the keyboard to allow for standing workstation and that is not its intended purpose. The whole unit slides away under the desk when not in use and has the ability to pivot left or right to get just the correct position for your workstation. As a software engineer, I spend a great amount of time at my workstation and this has definitely been a great addition to the comfort of my daily activities.

As far as locking the bolt down, and staying put, it's great. I installed this by screwing a couple boards into my desk first as a spacer to help it clear the frame because i put in on a drafting table. I kind of lean on it a little sometimes i guess, but the bolt hasn't ever slipped or moved when i didn't intend for it to. It's easy to adjust on the fly and stays every time. I don't use the little outboard accessories for a mouse or trackball. I did use it actually, but i didn't use it in any way they might intend for you to use it, so it's irrelevant. I actually did eventually push the screws holding the boards into my table out and knocked this thing into the floor once, but it never even considered moving from the place i bolted it to or even losing my adjustment on the height.
