At Autonomous, we are dedicated to helping the world's smartest people work smarter. By creating adjustable, ergonomic workspaces that empower the individual and help companies harness the full potential of their workforce, we can say that we do a little more than simply build office furniture. We are proud to support more than 110,000+ companies in 60+ countries - from the smallest seed-stage start-ups to the largest publicly traded corporations. We started with an adjustable, fully electric standing desk to deliver the best sit stand experience on the market and help increase productivity, health and happiness - not just 9-5, but round the clock. At the time, stand up desks did just that - stand up. We wanted to introduce a clever, convenient, and most importantly - adjustable standing desk, because one size simply does not fit all. We created sit-stand desks with different motors, materials and sizes for different purposes and situations, and began to truly appreciate the diversity of our growing client base. We quickly found that forward-thinking individuals and companies all around the world were looking to rethink their daily grind. They were more than ready to trade in the sedentary for the energy, focus and productivity that comes with moving just as nature intended. To adapt to existing workspaces, we designed and build a standing desk converter - so anyone could have a fully electric adjustable standing desk. We began to distribute top quality frames so customers could attach standing desk legs onto their own tabletops and hit the ground running. Developments in ergonomic science began to show us that simply standing is not enough - the key to health is continual movement over a range of positions, and that of course, includes sitting. So we designed the best office chair for all purposes - a fully adjustable ergonomic chair for 360 degrees of support - and its natural counterpart, the ergonomic stool, to remain active, even while at rest. We did not stop there. Over the last 2 years, we have designed, built and brought to hundreds of thousands of homes and offices, technology-powered, ergonomic products designed to improve the way we work, move and live.
