Take a quick break

Ice or a cold pack may reduce its severity if swelling occurs within the first 24 to 48 hours. A particular movement can be avoided if it causes pain. Massage of sore neck muscles while seated at your electric standing desk may provide some relief even if the neck cannot be moved in certain directions.
Maintain a proper posture
A neutrally positioned head with the ears directly above the shoulders is the best position for the cervical spine while sitting or standing. If you need to rest your elbows by the sides, you may find it helpful to have an ergonomic computer chair that supports your lower back and has armrests.
Make sure your PC screen is at eye level

The warmer the weather is, the better the chance of biking or getting off public transportation one stop early so you can walk the rest of the way.
